Specialist - Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices.
• Translate business requirements into technical stories, designs, and implementation plans.
• Integrate Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities into Java-based applications.
• Apply hands-on experience with Claude and other GenAI technologies where appropriate.
• Use GitHub Copilot to improve development productivity while maintaining coding standards and quality.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Deploy and manage applications and microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Utilize Google Cloud Deploy to support reliable application deployment processes.
• Develop cloud-native solutions optimized for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Independently troubleshoot technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of features and fixes while maintaining strong code quality, testing, and technical documentation.
• Participate in Agile software development activities and contribute throughout the SDLC.

Required Technical Skills

Java & Microservices

• 5–7 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, production-grade applications.

GenAI / Agentic AI

• Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI capabilities into applications.
• Understanding of Agentic AI concepts and patterns.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into Java-based applications.
• Hands-on exposure to Claude or comparable GenAI/LLM technologies.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot for software development and code productivity.

Google Cloud Platform

• Strong experience with GCP.
• Experience deploying Java microservices and cloud-native applications to GCP.
• Experience with Google Cloud Deploy.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Hands-on experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience automating build, test, and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of modern software deployment practices.
• Experience supporting applications through the complete development and deployment lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java + GenAI integration patterns and associated best practices.
• Experience working within cloud-native application environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise retail or store applications is advantageous.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and modern SDLC practices.
• Experience working with distributed or nearshore development teams.
